Mint is Jetblue's variant of business class, and it includes top of the business class facilities at a very genuine price relying upon when and where you book. That business class is more costly than most economy flights, but not costly then premium seats on other airlines.

I just booked Jet Blue for my Brother and I travelling SFO to NYC in August 2018. We got the $599 deal mentioned. After purchasing and being directed to seat allocation I was thrilled to learn that we could have suites each for no extra charge. I assume it had to do with having booked so far in advance so had the choice of any Jet Blue Mint seats including suites.

I am not well sure about that changing the whole name but in my case, it was just 3 alphabets so they changed it. The Jet Blue representative do mention that as it's a spelling change and the pronunciation remains will be the same, he will change it for me.
